Who is responsible

Northgate Motors (Pty) Ltd ("we") is the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Our Information Officer is The Information Officer. Contact privacy@example.co.za or write to 1 Example Road, Sandton, Johannesburg.

What we collect and why

• Name and mobile number, and optionally email: to respond to your enquiry, finance call, trade-in, service booking or parts request.
• The car you asked about, and any details you type in the form, such as the make and mileage of a car you want to trade in: to deal with that one request.
• Your choice of cookies: to remember it.
• Anonymous page statistics, only if you accept analytics.

We do not ask for ID numbers, bank details or income on these forms. The finance calculator and affordability check run in your browser. The income, expenses and deposit figures you type are not sent to us or stored.

Marketing

We only send offers if you tick the separate marketing box. You can opt out at any time by contacting privacy@example.co.za.

Who receives it

Our dealership sales and finance staff, and service providers who process data for us: website hosting, a workflow and messaging service that alerts our team, and a spreadsheet service that logs enquiries. Some of these providers store data outside South Africa, including in the European Union and the United States. We use them only to run this service.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a sale are deleted or anonymised after 12 months. If you buy from us, we keep records for as long as the law and our business records require.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or object to its use, by writing to privacy@example.co.za. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

If we change this policy we update the version above and ask for your cookie choice again.
